If a bowl of oatmeal is what’s standing between you and all the benefits of a ketogenic diet, this warm, comforting porridge is for you.
This porridge is a nutrition powerhouse with over 15 grams of protein per serving. It’s also a rich source of essential omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids with, as made here, a perfect one-to-one ratio at 8.6 grams of each.
Don’t think you have to make it just like it’s made here, though – adjust the ratios to fit your palate and what’s in your cupboard. I also love to add a tablespoon or two of coconut flour or desiccated coconut in place of some of the almond flour – or in addition. Psyllium husk is another potentially nice addition.
Don’t worry if you don’t have all the ingredients. I make my noatmeal differently every time and it’s always delicious.
Toppings are another way to customize and make this porridge yours. I love it with berries, coconut cream, nut butter, cacao nibs, or my latest chia seed jam.
As an added bonus, the ingredients can be combined in advance for easy meal-prep, travel and fast meals on the go – all you need to do is tip the seeds and powders into a bowl and add boiling water when you’re ready to eat.
