I’m overwhelmed to report that I’ve made it another month with my blood cancer tumor markers in the normal range!
I’ve started focusing on some non-cancer healing this month after confirming the following diagnoses:
- I have an exceptionally bad case of methane-dominant SIBO (small intestine bacterial overgrowth) which will get it’s own post soon.
- I’ve developed overt hypothyroidism, which has been known to cause SIBO. It’s apparently fairly common for people taking my kind of cancer drug (TKI). The good news, though, is that it corresponds with improved outcomes. “New hypothyroidism in cancer patients treated with TKI is associated with significantly improved OS [overall survival].” So no hard feelings there.
I’m so excited to have this quiet time to focus on deeper healing and make sure my body and immune systems are in optimal condition.
I have one more test in London next month and then Brad and I are off to Scotland for a bit. I’m not sure where we’ll land after that. I can’t believe I get to live my European dreams for awhile!
