June 2020 Blood Test Results

by Maggie Jones

I’m overwhelmed to report that I’ve made it another month with my blood cancer tumor markers in the normal range!

I’ve started focusing on some non-cancer healing this month after confirming the following diagnoses:

  • I have an exceptionally bad case of methane-dominant SIBO (small intestine bacterial overgrowth) which will get it’s own post soon.
  • I’ve developed overt hypothyroidism, which has been known to cause SIBO. It’s apparently fairly common for people taking my kind of cancer drug (TKI). The good news, though, is that it corresponds with improved outcomes. “New hypothyroidism in cancer patients treated with TKI is associated with significantly improved OS [overall survival].” So no hard feelings there.

I’m so excited to have this quiet time to focus on deeper healing and make sure my body and immune systems are in optimal condition.

I have one more test in London next month and then Brad and I are off to Scotland for a bit. I’m not sure where we’ll land after that. I can’t believe I get to live my European dreams for awhile!

Just found out about you on Instagram, which led me to your blog. It’s so inspirational hearing your story! And congrats on the continued low tumour markers. Such brilliant news! Sorry to hear about SIBO and Hypothyroidism. Zinc has been a lifesaver for hypothyroidism…I’m sure you’ll have great results tackling those issues head as you’ve had your cancer! So much respect from my end………….Enjoy Scotland xx

Oh wow, Linda!! This is more helpful than you know! I stopped taking zinc a year ago and it keeps cropping up in my hypothyroid research now – this comment was exactly the push I needed to start taking it again. Thank you so so much for the kind words and encouragement! Much love to you xoxox
